Terms of Service

1. Agreement to these terms

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) are an agreement between you and Stagatlast, an independent software brand operated by an individual developer based in China. They govern your access to the Stagatlast website and your download, installation, purchase, activation, and use of StagLingo Free or Premium (together, the “Service”).

By accessing the Service, installing or using StagLingo, creating a customer account, or completing a purchase, you agree to these Terms. If you use the Service for a business or another organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization, and “you” includes that organization.

A purchase may also be governed by the buyer terms, checkout terms, refund policy, and end-user license terms displayed by Freemius at checkout or in the customer portal. Purchase-specific Freemius terms control the payment transaction if they conflict with these Terms. The GNU General Public License controls the rights granted under that license to covered plugin code.

Our Privacy Policy explains how personal data is handled and forms part of these Terms by reference.

2. Eligibility and accounts

You must have legal capacity to enter into these Terms. If you have not reached the age at which you may independently enter into a binding agreement where you live, a parent, guardian, or authorized representative must agree for you. We do not impose a blanket adult-only rule on browsing the website or learning about WordPress, but third-party account and API providers may apply their own age and eligibility rules.

You must provide accurate account and billing information and keep it current. You are responsible for activity under your account and license, for maintaining the security of passwords and license keys, and for promptly notifying us of suspected unauthorized use. You may not share an account, license key, download credential, or support entitlement outside the person or organization entitled to use it.

3. What StagLingo provides

StagLingo is a WordPress plugin for managing multilingual translation workflows used with TranslatePress. Depending on edition and active entitlement, features may include page discovery, export, review export, incremental workflows, protected import, translation scoring, index control, automatic translation, backups, history, and verification of rendered pages.

Product descriptions and documentation explain the current intended behavior. Screenshots, demonstrations, roadmaps, examples, performance estimates, translation scores, savings estimates, and future-feature discussions are illustrative and are not guarantees.

4. Technical requirements and your responsibilities

You are responsible for checking the current documented requirements before installation. StagLingo requires a compatible self-hosted WordPress environment and is designed to work with TranslatePress. Some functions depend on a compatible TranslatePress edition, extension, storage structure, or public API. Features involving translated URL slugs may, for example, require a separately licensed TranslatePress SEO component.

You are responsible for:

• maintaining your hosting, WordPress installation, TranslatePress installation, themes, plugins, PHP environment, database, and security;
• creating a complete, restorable backup before bulk imports, updates, migrations, database repair, or other material changes;
• testing workflows on a staging site or a limited test page before production use;
• reviewing warnings, quarantined rows, reports, backups, and the visitor-visible translated page;
• keeping WordPress salts, administrator credentials, license keys, and API credentials secure;
• complying with privacy, copyright, consumer, advertising, export, sanctions, and other laws that apply to your websites and content; and
• maintaining lawful rights and permissions for all text, media, personal data, and other material you process.

5. Software license, GPL rights, and site activations

GPL-covered code

StagLingo identifies its covered plugin code as licensed under the GNU General Public License version 2 or later. Nothing in these Terms removes or limits rights that the applicable open-source license grants you. Third-party components may be governed by their own license notices.

What a Premium purchase controls

A Premium purchase provides a time-limited commercial entitlement to obtain the Premium distribution, activate the purchased number of websites, receive automatic updates, access Premium functionality controlled by an active license, and receive the support described for that plan. This entitlement is separate from the open-source license that applies to covered code.

• One site activation means one active WordPress installation unless the checkout or license portal expressly states otherwise.
• You may deactivate an eligible site and move the activation to another site, subject to Freemius controls and reasonable anti-abuse limits.
• You may not publish, sell, transfer, or share a license key, customer account, update credential, or support entitlement as a standalone product.
• You may not evade the purchased activation limit or falsely represent an unlicensed installation as activated.

Stagatlast names, logos, product branding, website design, and non-code marketing assets are not licensed under the GPL unless expressly stated. You may not imply sponsorship, endorsement, or official status without written permission.

6. AI providers, translations, and your content

StagLingo currently provides direct interfaces for OpenAI, Google Gemini, Anthropic, and administrator-defined HTTPS endpoints that implement a compatible interface. When you enable an AI feature, your WordPress server sends selected content and context directly to the provider you configure. Stagatlast does not proxy the request, supply the API account, or include third-party API usage in the StagLingo purchase price.

You are responsible for:

• obtaining and paying for an eligible provider account, API key, model access, and usage;
• complying with the provider’s terms, usage policies, regional availability, age requirements, and data-processing conditions;
• ensuring you have a lawful basis to send the selected content and any personal data to that provider;
• choosing an appropriate paid or unpaid service tier after reviewing how that tier handles prompts and outputs;
• protecting API keys and monitoring spending limits, quotas, model names, rate limits, and provider invoices; and
• reviewing every translation and model-generated result before publication or reliance.

AI output may be inaccurate, incomplete, offensive, inconsistent, duplicated, or unsuitable for your audience. Translation scores and review tools are decision aids, not certifications. Stagatlast does not guarantee a particular score, native-language quality, legal compliance, search ranking, indexing outcome, traffic result, conversion result, or freedom from third-party rights claims.

You retain your rights in content you own. You grant Stagatlast no license to website content that remains solely on your WordPress installation. If you voluntarily submit content, files, diagnostics, or examples for support, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive right to access, reproduce, analyze, and modify that material only as reasonably necessary to provide support, investigate the issue, improve security, or comply with law.

7. Prices, payment, taxes, and the merchant of record

Prices, currency, billing interval, site allowance, discounts, and included features are those displayed at checkout when you place the order. Taxes may be added based on your location and billing information. Unless expressly stated, prices do not include hosting, WordPress services, a TranslatePress license, an AI subscription, API usage, payment-provider fees charged to you, internet access, or third-party products.

Freemius acts as the Merchant of Record for StagLingo purchases and provides checkout, payment processing, tax calculation and collection, invoices, subscriptions, customer accounts, licenses, and related transaction services. Payment information is submitted directly to Freemius and its payment processors. Your purchase is also subject to the Freemius Terms of Service and the buyer-facing terms displayed during checkout.

We may change prices or plan contents prospectively. A price change does not alter a billing period you have already paid for. Renewal pricing, grandfathering, discounts, and notice of changes are governed by the offer shown to you, applicable law, and the notices sent through Freemius.

8. Subscription renewal and cancellation

Premium subscriptions renew automatically each year unless cancelled before the next renewal date. The renewal amount, applicable tax, and any renewal notice are handled through Freemius. You authorize Freemius and its payment processors to charge the payment method on file for each renewal until the subscription is cancelled.

You may manage or cancel a subscription through the StagLingo My Account portal or the relevant Freemius customer portal. Deactivating or deleting the WordPress plugin does not automatically cancel a subscription. Cancellation normally stops future renewals and takes effect at the end of the already-paid term; it does not ordinarily create a prorated refund for the remaining period.

After an entitlement expires or is cancelled, Premium functionality, automatic updates, and paid support require a new active entitlement. Expiration does not by itself delete existing TranslatePress translations, and the functionality offered in the then-current Free edition remains available, subject to its current requirements.

9. Limited 7-day product-issue guarantee

The initial purchase of a StagLingo Premium license includes a limited seven-calendar-day product-issue guarantee beginning on the purchase date. To qualify, all of the following conditions must be met:

• you contact us and request assistance within the first seven calendar days;
• a reproducible defect in StagLingo makes one or more material, currently advertised Premium functions unusable;
• the issue occurs in a supported WordPress and TranslatePress environment that meets the documented requirements;
• you provide reasonably requested diagnostics and cooperate with reasonable troubleshooting; and
• we are unable to resolve or provide a reasonable workaround for the verified defect.

If those conditions are satisfied and you request a refund, the initial purchase price will be refunded through Freemius to the original payment method. Processing time, currency conversion, and the treatment of taxes or payment charges may depend on Freemius, the payment processor, your bank, and applicable law. The associated Premium entitlement may be disabled when the refund is issued.

The guarantee does not ordinarily cover:

• a change of mind, failure to read the product description, or a feature that was never advertised as included;
• third-party conflicts or incompatibilities outside the documented supported stack;
• hosting restrictions, outdated or modified software, custom code, cache behavior, database corruption, misconfiguration, misuse, or failure to follow instructions;
• an AI provider’s outage, model change, rate limit, regional restriction, refusal, billing, quota, content policy, or output quality;
• TranslatePress, WordPress, a theme, another plugin, or an external service changing or withdrawing functionality outside Stagatlast’s control;
• API charges, subscriptions, hosting fees, or other third-party costs;
• renewals, plan upgrades, additional site purchases, or requests submitted after the seven-day period; or
• SEO rankings, indexing, traffic, revenue, translation scores, or subjective satisfaction with generated content.

10. Support, updates, and availability

Support for an active Premium license is provided through the available Freemius support form or hello@stagatlast.com. We may request a license identifier, system report, screenshots, logs, sample files, temporary staging-site access, or steps to reproduce an issue. Do not send a password or complete API key by email.

We aim to respond and resolve issues within a commercially reasonable time, but unless a separate written service-level agreement says otherwise, we do not guarantee a response time, resolution time, continuous availability, or support for emergencies. Free support, customization, migration, content review, database repair, and assistance with third-party services may be limited or offered at our discretion.

Updates may add, change, repair, deprecate, or remove functionality to improve reliability, security, compatibility, compliance, or maintainability. WordPress, TranslatePress, AI providers, hosting environments, browsers, and other dependencies change independently; therefore, compatibility with every past or future version is not guaranteed.

We may suspend downloads, activations, updates, or support temporarily for maintenance, security, abuse prevention, legal compliance, provider outages, or events beyond our reasonable control. We may discontinue a feature, edition, or the Service, subject to applicable law and any notice or remedy required for active paid customers.

11. Acceptable use

You may not use the Service to:

• break applicable law, violate another person’s rights, or process content you have no authority to use;
• distribute malware, exploit vulnerabilities, gain unauthorized access, interfere with systems, or evade security controls;
• abuse Freemius checkout, refunds, trials, activations, update delivery, accounts, or support;
• share, expose, resell, or traffic in license keys, account credentials, support access, or private download credentials;
• circumvent a purchased site-activation allowance or submit false information to obtain an entitlement;
• use AI features in violation of the selected provider’s terms or to send personal, confidential, regulated, or copyrighted material without appropriate authority;
• misrepresent AI-generated translations as verified human work where that representation would be misleading or unlawful;
• impersonate Stagatlast, misuse our trademarks, or falsely suggest that a modified or redistributed version is official or supported by us; or
• burden our website, support, licensing, or update systems with automated, excessive, fraudulent, or abusive requests.

This section restricts misuse of Stagatlast-operated services, accounts, credentials, entitlements, and branding. It does not restrict legitimate exercise of rights granted by the GPL for GPL-covered code.

12. Ownership, documentation, and feedback

Except for open-source and third-party materials, Stagatlast and its licensors retain all rights in the website, documentation, product names, logos, original design, databases, service infrastructure, and materials not expressly licensed to you. No right is granted by implication.

If you voluntarily provide feedback, feature ideas, error reports, or suggestions, you grant Stagatlast a worldwide, perpetual, irrevocable, royalty-free right to use, reproduce, modify, publish, and incorporate that feedback into products and services without compensation or attribution. This does not transfer ownership of your website content or personal data and remains subject to our Privacy Policy.

13. Disclaimers of warranties

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the website, StagLingo, documentation, downloads, support, reports, scores, translations, and related materials are provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory. This includes implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, accuracy, quiet enjoyment, and uninterrupted or error-free operation.

We do not warrant that StagLingo will identify every string, prevent every data loss, work with every server or third-party combination, remain compatible after third-party changes, produce accurate translations, satisfy legal or accessibility requirements, or improve SEO, indexing, traffic, sales, or revenue. Backups and safety checks reduce risk but do not replace your own tested backup and recovery process.

Third-party products and services—including WordPress, TranslatePress, Freemius, hosting, AI providers, models, payment processors, themes, and other plugins—are provided by their respective operators. Stagatlast is not responsible for their availability, security, pricing, policies, output, changes, or conduct.

14. Limitation of liability and indemnity

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Stagatlast will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages; loss of profits, revenue, traffic, rankings, goodwill, business opportunity, or anticipated savings; loss, corruption, disclosure, or restoration of data; third-party charges; or the cost of substitute products or services, arising from or related to the Service.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Stagatlast’s total aggregate liability arising from or relating to the Service will not exceed the amount you paid for StagLingo during the twelve months immediately before the event giving rise to the claim. For a claim involving only a free Service, total liability will not exceed USD 25. These limitations apply regardless of the legal theory and even if a remedy fails of its essential purpose.

Some jurisdictions do not allow particular warranty exclusions or liability limitations. In those jurisdictions, these provisions apply only to the extent permitted, and nothing excludes liability or consumer rights that cannot legally be excluded or limited.

If you use the Service for a business, you agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Stagatlast from third-party claims, losses, liabilities, and reasonable costs arising from your unlawful content, your violation of another person’s rights, your breach of these Terms, or your misuse of the Service, except to the extent caused by Stagatlast’s own unlawful act.

15. Suspension and termination

You may stop using the website or plugin at any time. Stopping use, deactivating the plugin, or deleting it does not by itself cancel a paid subscription. You must cancel through the customer portal as described in Section 8.

We may suspend or terminate access to Stagatlast-controlled accounts, downloads, license activations, updates, or support if you materially breach these Terms, misuse an entitlement, create security or legal risk, fail to pay an amount due, or use the Service fraudulently or abusively. Where reasonably practicable, we will provide notice and an opportunity to cure, unless immediate action is needed for security, fraud prevention, legal compliance, or to protect other users.

Termination does not revoke rights already granted to GPL-covered code under the GPL. It may end contractual entitlements to Premium downloads, active-license functionality, automatic updates, and support. Provisions that by their nature should survive—including ownership, payment obligations, disclaimers, liability limits, indemnity, and dispute terms—remain in effect.

16. Governing law and disputes

Your payment transaction with Freemius is governed by the buyer-facing terms presented by Freemius. For matters governed by these Terms and not controlled by those purchase terms, the laws of the People’s Republic of China apply, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Nothing in this section removes mandatory consumer protections or a right to bring a claim in another forum where applicable law does not permit that right to be waived.

Before starting formal proceedings, you and Stagatlast agree to make a good-faith effort to resolve the dispute by written notice. Send the notice to hello@stagatlast.com and describe the issue, relevant transaction, requested resolution, and supporting information. If the dispute is not resolved within 30 days after a complete notice is received, either party may pursue an available legal remedy. Subject to mandatory law, disputes will be submitted to a competent court at the place where the Stagatlast operator is domiciled.

17. Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms to reflect changes in StagLingo, pricing models, service providers, security, law, or business operations. The revised version will be posted on this page with a new “Last updated” date. If a material change adversely affects an active paid term, we will provide additional notice where required and apply the change prospectively unless an earlier change is necessary for security, legal compliance, or preventing abuse.

If you do not agree to revised Terms, you must stop using the affected Service and cancel future renewals. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance to the extent permitted by law. No informal statement changes these Terms unless Stagatlast expressly agrees to that change in writing.

18. General provisions

These Terms, the Privacy Policy, applicable checkout terms, and any expressly incorporated policy form the agreement governing the Service. If a provision is unenforceable, it will be modified to the minimum extent necessary or severed, and the remaining provisions remain in effect. A failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver. Headings and summaries are for convenience and do not replace the full terms.

You may not assign a customer account, paid entitlement, or these Terms without our written consent, except as permitted by the applicable plan or mandatory law. Stagatlast may assign these Terms as part of a reorganization, asset transfer, or sale of the business, subject to applicable notice and consumer rights. Neither party is liable for delay caused by events beyond its reasonable control, except that this does not excuse payment obligations already due.
