Manual workflow guide

Manual Two-Round Translation Workflow

Export protected source content, translate it with the reusable ChatGPT Skill, import the reviewed package, then examine the rendered copy visitors actually receive and apply only the corrections that remain.

Before round 1

Prepare one safe test before scaling.

The manual workflow is designed for visible control, but it still depends on a compatible WordPress and TranslatePress environment. Confirm the foundation and complete one small real-page test first.

Environment

Check Diagnostics

Confirm TranslatePress, target locales, PHP DOM, storage access, and any URL-slug integration you intend to use.

Access

Activate Premium

Multilingual Export, Review Export, Import, and their protected package workflow require an active Premium license.

Review tool

Install the Skill

Add translatepress-ai-work-batch through the Skills interface available in your ChatGPT account or workspace.

Test scope

Choose one page

Use one representative page and a small language set before processing a large multilingual batch.

Search control

Protect unfinished URLs

Keep incomplete translated URLs noindex, follow until translation and review are finished.

Cache access

Know what to clear

Identify the page, plugin, server, and CDN caches that may delay verification of newly imported copy.

Round 1 · Step 1

Create the protected source package.

Open Tools → StagLingo → Export. The package should describe exactly which default-language pages, target languages, and content families the first translation round is allowed to change.

  1. 01

Add default-language page URLs or published content IDs.

  2. 02

Select the target languages needed for this batch.

  3. 03

Keep Fast blank export for a new translation.

  4. 04

Keep AI Work Package ZIP as the delivery format.

  5. 05

Use the recommended complete-page scope and All selected strings unless you intentionally need a narrower audit.

  6. 06

Download the package once and keep the ZIP intact.

Do not reconstruct the CSV yourself. The package preserves the exact source identity, hashes, locale coverage, content types, and orchestration instructions required for a safe import.
Round 1 · Step 2

Process the complete ZIP with the reusable Skill.

Start a working chat, select or mention translatepress-ai-work-batch, and upload the complete AI Work Package. The Skill performs translation and review while preserving the package identities required by StagLingo.

01

Upload one complete package

Do not unpack and upload a random subset unless you deliberately created an independently valid package.

02

Let the Skill preserve identity

Translation changes belong only in target-language cells. Protected source columns and package structure remain unchanged.

03

Download the returned ZIP

The expected result is one import-ready reviewed ZIP, not a prose-only report or a rebuilt spreadsheet.

Protected fields: never manually change post_id, source_url, content_type, exact_english_source, or source_hash. The plugin's Workflow Guide recommends GPT-5.6 Sol with High reasoning, or a more capable setting, for multilingual batches and protected HTML review.
Round 1 · Step 3

Import the first reviewed ZIP through the protected writer.

Open Import, add the ZIP returned by the Skill, and use the normal resumable route. StagLingo expands the package into independent CSV tasks and processes them serially.

  1. 01

    Keep Direct serial import.

  2. 02

Keep Standard / resumable for ordinary batches.

  3. 03

Start the import and allow the progress queue to finish.

  4. 04

Review quarantined or failed items without discarding valid sibling files.

  5. 05

Use History for completed page-language and file-level records.

What the writer protects: source freshness, package identities, inline HTML structure, private backups, per-cell transactions, storage read-back, History, and page-aware cache clearing. Blank target cells and / preserve the current translation.
Round 2 · Step 1

Export the translation that visitors actually receive.

After the first import and relevant cache clearing, open Review Export for the same pages and languages. This stage reads public target-language body copy in rendered order instead of reconstructing the result from database rows.

  1. 01

Enter the same default-language URLs or content IDs.

  2. 02

    Select the same target languages.

  3. 03

Keep AI Work Package ZIP (recommended).

  4. 04

Keep Plain text (.txt, recommended) unless DOCX is intentionally needed.

  5. 05

Keep each run within 50 page-language combinations.

  6. 06

Download the generated AI Review Package.

Why this is a separate round: rendered review can expose unnatural word order, punctuation, spacing, missing predicates, inline-link boundaries, or visible English residue that isolated translation cells may not reveal.
Round 2 · Step 2

Review, correct, and re-import only what still needs work.

Upload the AI Review Package to a ChatGPT chat using the same Skill. The second result should be a targeted import ZIP whose unchanged cells remain /, preventing unnecessary overwrites.

Apply the targeted correction

  1. 01

Upload the complete Review Package with the Skill active.

  2. 02

Download the returned targeted correction ZIP.

  3. 03

Import it once through the same protected Import interface.

  4. 04

Do not replace / with copied translations.

Use Scoring as an independent audit

A default-language URL can score its derived target languages; a translated URL scores that locale. The report evaluates language quality and visible composition while separating suspected application failures.

A score is evidence for review prioritization, not a guarantee that every browser, cache layer, or dynamic component is displaying the same state.

Final authority

Read storage failures and front-end warnings differently.

StagLingo separately reports whether a value was safely stored and whether an immediate public-page request could see it. Dynamic, conditional, rotating, personalized, JavaScript-rendered, or cached content can affect the second check.

Requires action

The write was rejected or not proven

Validation, protected-field, backup, transaction, rollback, or storage read-back failures must be investigated before retrying.

Check the live page

Storage succeeded but visibility was not confirmed

stored_but_frontend_unconfirmed, “not detected,” or similar visibility warnings require inspecting the real translated URL after cache clearing.

  • Clear the relevant WordPress, server, CDN, and browser caches.
  • Open the actual target-language URL in a private browser window.
  • Inspect the visible page copy, links, headings, tables, metadata, and relevant attributes.
  • If related articles or another rotating component was absent from the immediate request but the visible front end is correctly translated, do not repeatedly re-import only to remove a conservative warning.
  • If visitor-visible content is still wrong, use Review Export, Diagnostics, and a targeted correction package.
Queue behavior: when all configured target locales for a page finish, its temporary completed queue record may clear automatically. Completed audit information remains available through History. The live target-language page—not the temporary queue—is the final publishing authority.
